- One of the quintessential fall views in New Hampshire is of a covered bridge surrounded by vibrant orange, yellow, and/or crimson leaves of New Hampshire’s fall foliage. As you drive around the region, make sure to include a visit to one or more of the gorgeous New Hampshire-covered bridges in the area.
- Speaking of driving around – there are some routes that are far more beautiful than others in the fall. One of our favorite ways to spend a day in New Hampshire in fall is by taking one of the nearby Scenic Drives. Popular routes include Portsmouth/New Castle on Route 1b, Hampton Beach to Hampton Falls and Exeter, and the Coastal Byway.
- If you’d rather hop out of the car and get up close and personal with New Hampshire’s fall foliage, there’s no better time to enjoy a hike. Luckily, there’s some excellent hiking near us on the Seacoast. Some of our favorite fall hikes include the Stratham Hill Fire Tower, the trails at Pawtuckaway State Park, and the Hillzilla Trail and Red Loop in Exeter.
- The Seacoast is also a great place to enjoy some biking. One of our favorite places for this is the Rockingham Recreational Rail Trail, but there are also plenty of great rural roads to ride, which will take you through beautiful scenery.
- If you’d rather stick close to town and still enjoy a bit of Mother Nature at her finest, we recommend a beautiful walk along the Swasey Parkway, the Exeter River Trail, and the trail network on the grounds of the Phillips Exeter Academy.
